Frequently Asked Questions About Treat-or-Treat

1. What is Treat-or-Treat at Florida Tech?

As mentioned on the home page, Treat-or-Treat is Florida Tech's annual Halloween festival meant for all ages across Brevard County. The event hosts theatrical haunted houses, games, music, food, inflatables, various local clubs and organizations, and of course, candy! Best of all, this event is free to the general public and Florida Tech students.

2. Is it fun?

Yes. Why would you even ask that?

3. Is the event kid-friendly?

Completely kid friendly! In fact, the event is meant for everyone. Our haunted houses cater to a wide age range, with some houses meant specifically for young children while others are meant for teenagers and adults. Other activities, such as lawn games, live performances, and inflatables also allow for an all-encompassing Halloween festival experience.

4. Is the event Wheelchair accessible?

The event itself is wheelchair accessible. This includes the event's performance area, community garden, club and organization displays, lawn games, bathrooms, and designated eatery. Our five haunted houses are not, however, wheelchair accessible.

5. Where should I park?

Parking is available directly across the street (Country Club Rd) from the event. Parking is free but limited so be sure to arrive early. We also advise carpooling to reduce the amount of parking needed. Please use Country Club's sidewalks and crosswalks when walking to The main entrance of Treat-or-Treat. For a map of all available parking, please refer to the Map section of this website.

6. Where are the Bathrooms?

Bathrooms are located in two areas of the event. One bathroom is located in the Student Union Building near the front entrance of the event and the other is in the Rathskeller, which located on the first floor of Evans Hall. Both are wheelchair accessible. Signage will be clearly displayed for bathrooms during treat-or-treat.

7. Where can I sit down and cool off in some A.C.?

Sitting areas that are air-conditioned can be found both in the Student Union Building and the Rathskeller, which is located in the first floor of Evans Hall

8. How long are the wait times to enter each haunted house?

We have been working to improve our haunted house line wait times. Being that Florida Tech is a school filled with engineers who love a challenge, we think we've come up with a series of solutions that will be discussed via future Facebook posts.

9. Can you come dressed up in costumes?

Yes! We encourage you and your family to come dressed up. Please, however, do not come with any fake weaponry, such as toy guns or swords. These items will not be allowed into the event.

10. Will there be food besides candy to eat?

Florida Tech does offer two campus eateries that are open to the general public should you get hungry during the event. Please be aware that these eateries do charge for food as they are campus establishments and are not based around our event.

One eatery is the Rathskeller, located on the first floor of Evans Hall.

the other is the Panther Dining Hall, which is located just south of University Blvd next to the Florida Tech Aquatics Center.

11. Is the event really free?

Yes, there is no fee to get into and enjoy Treat-or-Treat! All activities directly associated with the event once inside are free as well. Haunted houses, pumpkin patch, inflatables, etc. All free!

12. Where do I go for assistance if I need something during the event?

Both Residence Life staff members and members of Florida Tech Greek Life will be continuously walking around the event making sure everyone is okay and happy. Each one of them will be wearing an orange vest and a helpful attitude. The check-in table at the event's front entrance is also a place where one can go for help, including first aid.

13. How do I throw out my trash at the event?

Treat or treat is committed to being as environmentally friendly as possible. We encourage all of our guests to bring their own reusable water bottles and bags. Waste and recycling receptacles are placed throughout the event area for your convenience. Each of our receptacle stations are manned by volunteers who have been trained in waste management. Please give any trash or recyclables you may have to them for proper disposal.
